Cardiac Center - Ethiopia (CCE) donated more than 25 different medical equipment to TEGBARE-EID Technical School. These medical items include: UltraSound Machines, Patient bed and Bedside Monitors, Sterilizers, Anesthesia Machines, Suction Machines, Coagulation Analyzers, Low pressure Irrigation Systems, Blanket Cooler/Warmers, ENT devices, Defibrullators, Cell Savers, Stainless Steel Boilers and ESUs (Electro Surgical Units).

A medical team composed of five members from USA (Arizona State), headed by Dr. Michael Teodori, have performed fourteen (14) open heart surgeries. The team have made surgeries for children age ranging from 4 – 13 starting from April 29 – May 9, 2009. After completing their mission successfully, the team have left Addis for the US on May 11, 2009.

Following the departure of the team from Arizona, another medical team of eight (8) members from Montana, the fourth largest state of the United States, have made eleven (11) successful open heart surgeries for Adults from May 15, 2009 - May 23, 2009.

Meanwhile, it is remembered that, the Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia (CHFE) had already announced it's being operational as of January 12, 2009. The inauguration ceremony of the hospital was on Thursday, February 12, 2009. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Meles Zenawi, Dr. Tewodros Adhanom, Patron Sheikh Mohammed Hussien Ali Al-Amoudi, members of the diplomatic community and other supporters of the center.

In addition, the CORNERSTONE for the Molecular and Cellular level heart research institute was laid on the inauguration day by PM Meles.

Since its being operational (January 12, 2009), more than Sixty-Four (64) successful surgeries, open heart and interventional cardiac catheterization, have been performed for both children and adults. Patron Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Ali Alamudi attended when CCE (Cardiac Centre - Ethiopia) performed its first open heart surgery.
